Single-cultivar Sencha from Ōhira, Shizuoka Prefecture

Kanayamidori is a truly intriguing tea plant cultivar. Its taste and flavor changes dramatically depending on the way it is grown and processed, and when turned into Sencha it tends to have citrusy notes, somewhat resembling Japanese tangerines. Just like winter always turns into spring, a cup of Kanayamidori seems to always evoke a feeling of hearty cheerfulness and optimism.
