we can host on any day of the month, in the daytime or in the evening.
Price
€50 per person and at least €400 per event, so a group of 10 pays from €500. This is the starting point for a basic tasting of about 1.5 hours, and for an entire afternoon the price can go up to double. All prices are net and they do not include VAT.

We host private tea and matcha tastings for closed groups of up to 10 people at the long table in our gallery in Munich-Maxvorstadt: for a company Christmas party, a team event, a client evening, a birthday or a private tasting with friends. Our teas and matcha are directly sourced, or from trusted experts, and at a tasting we pour the same teas that we sell in the shop. We put the programme together for your group, and nobody needs to know anything about tea beforehand.

What We Can Pour For Your Group

Matcha Tasting

We whisk several matchas side by side and you taste them in small glasses, so that the group can compare colour, foam, sweetness and bitterness directly. Afterwards every guest whisks a bowl of their own with a chasen (bamboo whisk).

Japanese Green Tea

We brew sencha and gyokuro (shade-grown green tea) from our line-up in a kyusu (Japanese side-handle teapot) and serve them in small cups. We start the gyokuro at 40 to 50 °C and raise the temperature with each infusion, so that the group can taste how the same leaf changes from the first infusion to the third.

Tea And Ceramics

We pour the tea into bowls and cups from the current exhibition, and we explain who made them and what we look at when we judge a piece in use: the pour, the lid fit, the grip and the foot.

Sake Tasting And Catering

If needed, we can also arrange a more complex programme with a sake tasting or with catering, and we plan it together with you before the date is fixed.

For longer events we combine the programmes, and we agree on the length with you before the date is fixed.

Companies

  • Christmas party: a tasting in December for teams of up to 10 people, on the day that suits your team.
  • Team event: during working hours or after work, on a weekday or at the weekend.
  • Client evening: a tasting for your clients or partners, with the gallery reserved for your group.

Private Groups

  • Birthday: a tasting for up to 10 guests at the gallery table.
  • Private tasting: for friends or family who want to taste matcha and Japanese tea side by side with us.

How Booking Works

  1. You send us the date, the number of people and the occasion, by mail or with the button below.
  2. We reply with a proposal for the programme and the price.
  3. The date is reserved for you once you have confirmed the proposal.

Questions

How long does an event last?
A basic tasting lasts about 1.5 hours, which is also the minimum length. An event can also run for an entire afternoon, and then the price can go up to double the starting price. We agree on the length with you before the date is fixed.
Is food included?
Small snacks are included in every tasting. If you need more than that, we can arrange catering for your group.
Does the group need to know anything about tea?
No. We explain every tea while we pour it, and we translate the Japanese terms as we go.
Can you host outside December?
Yes. Write to us with your preferred date, and we will tell you whether we can host on that day.
Can we rent the gallery without a tasting?
