About Buchangqi Studio — Huang Yongxing (Dehua, China)

Buchangqi (不常器, “unusual objects”) is the Dehua porcelain line designed by Huang Yongxing and produced in his studio with apprentices since 2012. Each piece is fully handmade, so slight variations in weight, shape, and capacity are expected. Forms are quiet and service-driven: compact teapots, thin-walled cups, and balanced pitchers that showcase Dehua’s luminous body.

Six teapots from the collection are permanently housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in the UK. Buchangqi vessels are crafted from premium Dehua porcelain clay, hand-thrown and fired at 1330°C.
