Small Soda-fired Bowl #215
Bowl, Porcelain, soda-fired (partial glaze)
A small bowl in two tiers, with a groove between the rounded lower part and the upper part. The glossy grey-blue glaze is broken by orange flashing on one side, and the inside is cream. It can be used as a wide teacup or as a small bowl.
In the soda firing, soda is added to the kiln at high temperature. The vapour settles on the piece, which gives the orange flashing on the unglazed parts and the uneven gloss on the glaze.
ca. 200ml
