The handling is organic and well balanced, with calm, understated proportions that allow the teapot to quietly become part of the ritual.
Its appearance suggests an attentive way of brewing, where small gestures naturally come to the foreground. There is a tactile clarity to it — smooth without being cold, refined without feeling fragile; it invites presence and care, and rewards both.
Handmade Dehua (Blanc de Chine) teaware from the studio of ceramic artist Huang Yongxing, created with his apprentices. Clean, functional forms — Buchangqi Studio (不常器) “vessels without stories.”
(Fujian, China)
Dehua porcelain, also known as Blanc de Chine, is renowned for its luminous, creamy-white glaze and exceptional craftsmanship. Originating from Fujian, China, this porcelain has been prized for centuries, particularly in the realm of teaware. Its fine, dense clay allows for thin yet durable vessels, offering excellent heat retention while remaining smooth to the touch. The purity of Dehua porcelain enhances the clarity of teas, making it a favorite among tea connoisseurs who appreciate both aesthetic refinement and functional excellence.

The person behind UNEARTHED
For over 15 years I have been collecting ceramics and drinking tea very seriously. Now I am funnelling all of that experience into finding and curating great wares and tea.
We only sell what I personally like a lot, and that includes the tea I drink myself every day. I choose every maker. I taste every tea before it goes into the shop. I travel to Japan and China to meet the people who make what we sell.
Until now the entire endeavour is in my hands from end to end: sourcing, logistics, photography, education, labelling and packing your parcels.
Our gallery, studio, and tea space are a hub for experiencing and sharing the art of ceramics and tea.
Similar to the concept of “Utsuwa-galleries” in Japan, we are holding monthly exhibitions of unique ceramicists from Japan, China and Europe.
We also regularly host Workshops and Tea Experiences, and we supply cafés and shops with matcha and equipment at wholesale prices.
Tastes lovely with a splash of oat milk
Very flowery and mild. This was my first Ali Shan High Mountain Tea. I’m very pleased with quality & taste.
A little difficult to clean but a true joy to use.
