Soda-fired Gongfucha Cup #204
Cup, Porcelain, soda-fired (partial glaze)
A small gongfucha cup in a gourd shape, with a pinched waist between a rounded lower part and the rim. A gongfucha cup holds one short infusion from a small teapot or a gaiwan. The upper band is glazed in grey, and the lower part is white with a peach-orange flashing.
In the soda firing, soda is added to the kiln at high temperature. The vapour settles on the piece, which gives the orange flashing on the unglazed parts and the uneven gloss on the glaze.
ca. 50ml
