This unique White tea is sourced by Akira Hojo, He collaborates with a family of tea producers in a remote village in southwestern Lincang, located at around 1800-2300 meters elevation. They have inherited and cultivated numerous ancient tea gardens passed down through generations. Formerly, they sold fresh leaves to nearby factories as raw material. When he discovered them in 2018 during his search for naturally farmed tea gardens, he saw great potential in their land and legacy. Since then, he has supported them with guidance on facility design, processing techniques, and management practices. Today, they produce white tea exclusively under his supervision.

Natural Tea Gardens

Yunnan is widely recognized as the cradle of tea culture, where the earliest tea consumption began over 5,000 years ago. The region is home to ancient tea trees, some over 3,000 years old, thriving in biodiverse forests. Indigenous communities like the Bulang and Dai have cultivated and preserved these tea traditions for centuries, producing teas that reflect the rich terroir and heritage of the land.
