Crafts from the Tea Forest

Petr Novák and Raneta Coolakova bring two distinct but complementary practices to the tea table. Novák — a pioneer of gongfu teaware in the Czech ceramic scene — fires wood-kilned stoneware from locally sourced Czech clay, producing kyusu and shiboridashi shaped by decades of craft and tea practice. Coolakova, founder of Care for Teaware, travels the world with her tea and creates objects in response to it: handcrafted textile pouches and single-copy ceramics, each made with quiet intention and honest materials. Together, their work reflects a way of living with tea that is unhurried, tactile, and close to the forest.
