Lukas Richarz’s creations immediately resonated with me when I first sited one of his black bowls. There is something unique and refreshing about them yet very grounded and earthy. Lukas bowls are always wanting to be picked up and turned around. The foot often is revealing the unique character and story of the bowl. And indeed many of his bowls are literally fired the wrong way around.
I often felt like a handshake when grabbing one of Lukas' bowls.
[…] There is always a lot to read in his ceramics, and I look over each of them, turning them in turn in my hands, like one is taking a walk.
